OVERVIEW OF SCHOLARSHIP

The Coalition on Adult Basic Education recognizes that adult learners and their families often face barriers in life and employment and local education programs often struggle to secure the funding they need to ensure excellence. Through the generous work of the Educate and Elevate Foundation, established through seed funding provided by Essential Education, we hope to help offset some of these challenges for individuals and programs in our adult education community.

Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a local adult education program. For the purpose of this fund, an emergency is defined as a financial hardship within the academic school year, such as a medical issue, childcare, transportation issue, or an emergency such as fire, flood, unexpected death, victim of a crime, etc. Requirements: 1) You must have a current adult learner membership with COABE (no cost). 2) You must be currently attending an adult education program (12 hours minimally). 3) You must provide a letter of support from your local program or teacher.
