Build Your Experience

Each curriculum includes 5 parts: an introductory lesson (taught by the district teacher), a classroom lesson, field study trip, stewardship event, and reflective classroom lesson. Which curriculum are you signing up for?

Do you plan to participate in a stewardship event? Depending on the season, students plant native trees and shrubs (fall) or remove blackberry and other weeds (spring).

Program Cost
We do our best to help teachers get their students out of the classroom for field trips by greatly subsidizing the cost. Our program fees are per class and are based on the percent of a school's students from low-income families. (Find yours here. Search for your school and then select "Enrollment").

Transportation
Schools are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

The Greenway Trust can reimburse bus costs for schools with a low-income percentage of at least 50%. If you are eligible, more information will be included in your confirmation letter.

King County provides a limited number of free Wheels to Water buses to transport students to Greenway field trips. Eligible schools have a low-income rate of 35% or higher. The buses carry 40 or 70 passengers. Click here to read Metro's safety protocols. If you would like to apply for a Wheels to Water bus, check the box below and we will let you know know what the next steps are.
