Current Volunteer Opportunities

Brisbane Kitchen

Kitchen volunteers help with a wide range of kitchen tasks – from dicing vegetables to packing meals. No formal training or professional experience is required. Please note that kitchen volunteers must be physically fit, and able to be on their feet for the duration of the shift (approx. 3 hours).

Brisbane Warehouse

Warehouse volunteers will help with a variety of warehousing tasks such as taking delivery of incoming stock, recording and weighing incoming and outgoing product, stock rotation and general cleaning. Please note that preference will be given to those with previous warehouse experience and a current forklift license.

Brisbane Administration

Administration volunteers play an important role greeting kitchen volunteers and keeping the volunteer database up to date. They are the face of FareShare and so it is very important that these volunteers enjoy interacting with other people and have a can-do disposition. IT skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

Please note: all reception shifts are now full. If you are available for kitchen shifts we recommend you register for them instead.

Kitchen Shift Availability

Kitchen shifts are available at the following times:

Monday – Friday mornings (9:00am – 12:30pm)

Monday – Thursday afternoons (1:30pm – 5:00pm)

Friday afternoon cleaning (12:30pm – 3:00pm)
Monday - Thursday evenings (6:00pm – 9:00pm)*
Saturday mornings (8:00am – 12:00pm)*

*Please note that we are gradually introducing evening and weekend shifts throughout 2019. If you would like to join these shifts, please indicate below - we will be in touch when we begin rostering for your selected shift/s.
