The Spotlight Education Evaluator Team is comprised of artists with a strong educational theatre background who wish to use their skills to engage in Hennepin Arts' Spotlight Education initiatives.

New Evaluators: Writing Samples

2026-2027 Evaluation Preferences

Spotlight Education evaluates both musicals and full-length plays. Please give us your preferences for evaluating school productions this year.

*Please note: Evaluators will receive additional compensation for time, mileage and hotel reimbursement when applicable. Spotlight will provide a hotel stay for evaluators traveling 120 miles or more for an evaluation in Greater Minnesota.

We focus production assessments on educational feedback, intended to help guide students towards future growth as artists. While also designating honors for notable contributions, our primary goal is to encourage, inspire and enhance school theater programs and strengthen the skills of student artists - onstage and offstage. Briefly describe your philosophy on educational theater.

Evaluator Training

In order to evaluate in the 2026-2027 Spotlight Education season, you must attend training regardless of previous evaluation experience. Please register for one of the following evaluator trainings. A $50 honorarium will be given to each evaluator for training.

RETURNING EVALUATORS:
All evaluators must engage in the Performance Eval & General Session training. Live training is highly recommended and preferred. If attending virtually, we ask that you keep your camera on. Pre- and Technical Evaluation trainings must be attended if an evaluator wishes to perform either type of evaluation during the 2026-2027 season.
