Please join Jill Hruby for a “behind-the-scenes” look at the United States’ three “national security” labs and their critical roles and responsibilities. She will describe how Sandia Labs conducts the annual assessment of the nuclear weapons stockpile and how it maintains the capabilities needed to ensure the nuclear deterrent into the future.

Jill Hruby was named the inaugural Sam Nunn Distinguished Fellow at NTI in November 2018. She served as the director of Sandia National Laboratories from July 2015 through May 2017. Sandia is a Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration national laboratory with diverse national security missions that include nuclear weapons, cyberspace, energy, non-proliferation, biological defense, and space.

NTI Seminars are organized to generate new thinking and robust dialogue on challenging issues related to weapons of mass destruction and disruption. These events are public and on-the-record.
