Because of the sensitive nature of volunteering with KEEN, you are required to disclose details of any criminal record. Only relevant convictions and other information will be taken into account so Disclosure need not necessarily be a bar to working with us.
Note that this volunteering position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, which means that all convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings on your criminal record need be disclosed.
This means you must include all convictions you've ever had — even if they are now spent or if you were a juvenile at the time.
A DBS check is a Disclosure and Barring Service check. If you don't have a current DBS (or even don't know what one is), you can still volunteer with KEEN London - we will process and pay for that. But if you have one already, and are registered with the Update Service, that will save us some time and you can begin volunteering quicker.
