About CCST
ccst
Policymaking informed by science did not happen by accident in California. Our work over the past 35 years has been made possible thanks to support from donors like you. We invite you to make a one-time or monthly gift. You’ll be helping to make California's policies stronger with science and technology. Thank you for supporting CCST!
About CCST Science & Technology Policy Fellows
2023 CCST S&T Policy Fellows standing in front of the California Capitol
Ever year, CCST recruits and trains a cohort of fifteen PhD scientists and engineers to spend one year working in Sacramento, directly serving policymakers within the Legislature, State Agencies, and Offices of the Governor. During their year of public service, these scientific minds get a front-row seat learning about the craft and process of policymaking in the state of California. Donate now to enable CCST Science & Technology Policy Fellows to work alongside decision makers to evaluate complex scientific issues and interpret data, while tackling the responsibilities of full-time staffers.
About CCST's AI Policy Initiative
A visual of AI on a blue background
CCST's AI Policy Initiative provides nonpartisan, science-informed insights to guide California’s policymakers through the rapidly evolving AI landscape. From navigating nuanced research recommendations to addressing societal impacts and ensuring equitable access, this initiative is poised to be a critical and timely resource for our state’s policymakers as they step up to the challenge of nation-leading action. CCST launched its Irwin Jacobs & Family AI Policy Funding Campaign, thanks to a seed donation from the Jacobs Family Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation.
About CCST's Disaster Resilience Initiative

Through our Disaster Resilience Initiative, CCST provides timely expertise and in-depth studies to help policymakers design resilient solutions for wildfires — including the public health dangers of wildfire smoke — California's energy future, COVID-19 and preparing for the next pandemic, and other human-made and natural disasters that are exacerbated by climate change. Give now and help us provide agile scientific and technical advice to address some of the most disruptive forces shaping the lives of Californians today.
