UT Promise Application

UT Promise is a last-dollar, undergraduate scholarship that will guarantee free tuition and mandatory fees to qualifying Tennessee residents enrolling in an undergraduate degree at UT campuses in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Martin, Memphis and Pulaski.

As a last-dollar scholarship, UT Promise will be applied after other financial aid is received. UT Promise is an expansion of scholarship offerings and does not replace existing scholarships. It is important to note that UT Promise functions separately from TN Promise and can only be used at universities falling under the University of Tennessee system.

Certification Statement and Consent to Release Information

I certify that the information reported in my UT Promise application and on any other document completed by me in connection with my application is true and completed to the best of my knowledge. I understand that under penalty of perjury any false statements intentionally made may result in prosection for violation of Tennesee Code Annotated § 39-16-702 and in the permanent loss of my UT Promise scholarship.

I authorize the release and exchange of the information related to my UT Promise application between the University of Tennessee, tnAchieves (UT Promise partnering organization), The Ayers Foundation and my high school. Such information may include student contact information, attendance at required meetings, completion of community service, state and federal financial aid eligibility, FAFSA data, postsecondary enrollment status, academic status, and residency and location information required by my postsecondary institution and tnAchieves to ensure timely receipt of the UT Promise scholarship. Such information may also be used by the Univeristy of Tennessee, tnAchieves or their contractors for statistical research and with that all application information will be held in strict confidence. I further certify that I have read and understand the applicable program rules and regulations. I authorize the release and exchange of information related to my Tennessee Promise application between the University of Tennessee, Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation, tnAchieves, and Ayers Foundation. Such information shall be limited to my contact information, the status of my application, attendance at required meetings, and completion of required community service. Information from my Tennessee Promise application shall be used by tnAchieves or their contractors to facilitate the awarding of the UT Promise scholarship and for statistical research. Use of my Tennessee Promise application information for any other purpose or by any other party shall be strictly prohibited.
