Farmers, ranchers and other agricultural producers face unprecedented challenges sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic and multiple years of market disruption, price volatility, and intense natural disasters. To date, the federal response to COVID-19 is failing to reach the full diversity of farmers, farm communities and farm types.
Farm Aid and the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) are working to assess the impact and reach of federal COVID-19 relief programs, both to advocate for new or adjusted programs that can reach producers who are struggling to access those currently available, and to ensure that USDA, SBA and other institutions at local, state and federal levels are doing everything in their power to ensure farmers can stay on their land and remain viable.
Information shared here will remain confidential, unless the farmer in question explicitly notes that we are allowed to share their information. Please feel free to connect with Farm Aid at alexandria@farmaid.org or NSAC at cfap@sustainableagriculture.net if you would like to share more details about what you or farmers you work with are experiencing.
We are grateful for your participation.
