Forever Manchester is offering 125 awards of £125 to help
community groups across Greater Manchester celebrate Christmas together.
Forever Manchester has always believed that connected communities make stronger, happier communities and love any activity that brings people together. That’s why, every Christmas for the last few years, we’ve awarded funds so that people can host events in their communities. Every Christmas we see an array of incredible ideas and events which enable people to get together in person or digitally, all bringing the Christmas spirit to their community. However you want to connect and celebrate, Forever Manchester is offering 125 awards of £125 to help.
We will close for applications at midday on Thursday 14th
November.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be from a community organisation based in
one of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. Organisations should have their
own bank account, or know a community organisation willing to accept an award
on your behalf. Funds cannot be paid into personal bank accounts.
If we receive more eligible applications than there are
awards available, final awards will then be allocated via a draw and priority
will firstly be given to organisations with an income of £10,000 or less.

What can you apply for?
That is up to you! We’re just here to provide that bit extra
of help you might need to make it happen, but here’s a few ideas that we know
communities have enjoyed in the past:
- Community Christmas trails for people to follow,
e.g. houses could dress windows for each day of advent or people could make
snowmen to put in their windows for people to find – you could create a map and
post it through everyone’s doors!
- Traditional Christmas parties with Santa and a
festive lunch.
- Gathering in the park or communal space,
enjoying hot drinks, festive treats and crafts.
- Carol singing for neighbours and the community.
- Online bingo or quizzes with themed questions
and prizes.
Deadline for Applications
We will close for applications at midday on Thursday 14th
November 2024. Any applications received after this time will not be
considered.
How long will the decision take?
Successful applicants will be informed by email by Thursday 21st November 2024 and payments released the same day (please note they may take several
days to reach bank accounts).
