The aim of Community Action Network’s (CAN) Information Technology policies is to ensure access to the organization’s equipment and technology are safe, lawful, and equitable.
CAN seeks to promote and facilitate the proper use of IT in the interests of learning, teaching and research, including business and community engagement partnerships. The Acceptable Use Policy is intended to provide a framework for such use of CAN’s resources. It applies to all computing, telecommunication, and networking facilities provided by CAN. It should be interpreted in such a way that it can encompass new and developing technologies and uses, which may not be explicitly referred to.
As a CAN employee, VISTA, Intern, volunteer, or other affiliate, I agree to:
Limit equipment use to business/professional activities
Take responsibility for all actions performed with my account
Practice password confidentiality
Secure equipment when not in use
CAN owns all content employees and affiliates create for the organization while under employment with the organization
Report lost or stolen devices to CAN within 24 hours
Assume full liability for risks including, but not limited to, the partial or complete loss of company and personal data due to an operating system crash, errors, bugs, viruses, malware, and/or other software or hardware failures, or programming errors that render the device unusable
