Thank you for your interest in Emma's Torch Culinary Training program! The program is a paid, 11-week training opportunity for students to learn culinary skills. Students are then helped to find a job that fits their culinary interests after graduation.

Emma's Torch is a competitive program. We have limited spots available for each cohort. We do not guarantee admission to the program after submitting your application.

Participants MUST be:
  1. Refugees, asylees, asylum seekers, or survivors of human trafficking who have arrived to the United States within the past five years 
  2. Ready to have full-time availability for the duration of the program 
  3. Over 18-years-old on their first day of the program
  4. Able to work in the United States, because we will pay you minimum wage
  5. Making less than $10,000 annually and/or facing significant barriers to employment in the US
  6. Willing and able to stand for 8 hours and lift boxes up to 50lbs (22kg) 
  7. Able to communicate and follow instructions in English
  8. Passionate about food!

This application should take you 10-15 minutes to complete.

Program Eligibility
These questions will assess if you are eligible to join Emma's Torch. If you are ineligible to join the program, you will be directed to the end of the survey. If you think there was a mistake in answering these questions contact applications@emmastorch.org.

Your schedule will change over 11 weeks, but you must be available for all of them. In the second half of the program, you may be required to work on weekends. If you miss too many classes, you will not graduate. You will learn more about the schedule during your interview.
