You must be 12 years or older on the date of the Event to volunteer. If you will be under 16 years of age on Event Day, you will need a guardian to sign the waiver. On Event Day, you will need to be accompanied by a guardian who is 18 years or older.

The event takes place on a Sunday, and most volunteer shifts start between 5-7am. If you are relying on public transport to get to your shift, please check your options before event weekend.

VOLUNTEER LUNCH
WE PROVIDE A LUNCH PACK TO ALL VOLUNTEERS ON EVENT DAY. THIS USUALLY INCLUDES A SANDWICH, PIECE OF FRUIT AND OTHER SNACK.

PLEASE NOTE: THE EVENT COVERS 82KM, WITH VOLUNTEER ROLES IN LOCATIONS BETWEEN SOUTH SYDNEY AND WOLLONGONG. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ALLOCATE YOU TO A ROLE IN YOUR CHOSEN AREA.

What volunteer role would you like to undertake?






TEAM LEADERS

Taking on a volunteer role as Team Leader or Manager typically includes supervising a volunteer team and setting up and packing down your area.  It is essential that Team Leaders have a thorough understanding of their role and are able to effectively communicate with other Team Leaders and MS Event Staff.

SOME TEAM LEADER ROLES WILL REQUIRE A NATIONAL POLICE CHECK PRIOR TO THE EVENT.

MSL requires all volunteers and participants to comply with relevant state health orders in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic at the time of the event, including but not limited to social distancing, wearing of masks and proof of vaccine. Anyone who is unable to comply with the current guidelines at the time of the event may be unable to volunteer.
