Everyday Miracles Doula Application

This application is lengthy and detailed. This is by design. It helps us as an organization (and you, the applicant) ascertain if we are a good fit to work together, and to make the most efficient use of our time in the interviewing and hiring process.

Please make sure you have an adequate amount of time and attention to answer all questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. You will also need to have documentation for your training and certification ready to upload, as well as contact information for at least one professional reference.

Transportation: Having consistent, reliable transportation to meet with clients and to get to births is an essential part of working with our program. What is the primary way you expect to get to births/client meetings?

Communication: Being reachable is a requirement for any doula. Everyday Miracles doulas must be consistently responsive to communication to their clients, their fellow doulas, the Doula Coordinator and Director. Doulas are expected to regularly check and respond to email and Slack (our team communication platform). Are you able to commit to this level of responsiveness?

Paperwork and Organization: We bill insurance for the work we do. We also collect data. We want to ensure that our work is supporting our core mission.

While it is nobody's favorite thing, keeping accurate and organized records for every client is a necessary part of working with Everyday Miracles. As an Everyday Miracles doula, accurate paperwork and documentation will be required for every client and every birth, and must be submitted in a timely manner.

Everyday Miracles Mission: Everyday Miracles is committed to reducing disparities and improving maternal and infant health for those most at risk for poor outcomes. This is at the core of what we do and what we value as an organization.

Boundaries can be challenging in birth work - even more so when working with underserved populations, where needs can be many.

Balance and On-Call Life: Doula work can be incredibly demanding. Our Core Program requires doulas to have the availability to be on call for individual clients.

Birth Work and Self-Care: Discuss the role of self-care in birth work, and what you personally do for self care.
