General Information
This fund supports students in the College of Human Ecology who are participating in any
type of community-based research activities or community-engaged learning activities that meet the following criteria:
- Need. Your project is responding to a community-identified need.
- Partner. You are working with and learning from community partner(s).
- Connection. Your project connects (and integrates) engaged experiences
with your disciplinary learning.
- Reflection. You will participate in critical reflection on your engaged experiences.
These grants are intended to support students participating
in any of the following: Course-based
engagement activities; Team-based learning
and research projects; Individual
community-engaged projects (including programs, internships or research); Mentored internships; Team-based
consulting projects
Projects must be in compliance with the university-wide travel restrictions and local public health guidelines. We value ethical partnerships with the community. The specific initiative proposed should clearly align with 1) the student's emerging purpose 2) community-engaged learning criteria and 3) goals of the off-campus partner organization.
Special consideration will be given to students who are experiencing financial hardship.
