Turkey Bend Waterway Cleanup Registration

Keep Texas Beautiful and Black Cat GIS, in partnership with the American Bird Conservancy and SPLASh would like to invite Houston area kayak and canoe volunteers to join us in cleaning up Turkey Bend on Buffalo Bayou! This event is funded by a grant from the EPA Trash Free Waters program and will help with valuable research and efforts to keep Buffalo Bayou and surrounding waters clean and beautiful!

Turkey Bend Waterway Cleanup
Saturday, April 23, 2022

Registration Open 8:30am
Cleanup Activity 9am - 12pm

Location: Participants will meet at the boat ramp across from Marron Park
808 N. York Street, Houston, TX. 77003

Volunteers should:

Have their own canoe or kayak
Be able to transport and launch their vessel at the check in site
Be comfortable paddling from the check in site to Turkey Bend and back
Dress appropriately for the weather/water and bring plenty of hydration
Be 12 years or older (all minors must have an adult chaperone)
Wear a life vest at all times (not provided, please bring your own USCG approved life vest and wear it at all times)

Event Staff will provide:

All cleanup supplies including: bags, grabbers and gloves
Sunscreen and Bug Repellent available
Boat support for bag collection and towing
