Objective: Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) has established a needs-based scholarship to help affiliates attend the KTB Annual Conference. KTB strongly supports and encourages the professional development of affiliate staff, leadership and volunteers and believes attending the Annual Conference encourages membership and participation in our affiliate program, thereby helping us achieve our vision to make Texas the cleanest, most beautiful state in the nation.
Funding: The scholarship program is provided with the generous support of Community Waste Disposal. We will be providing (3) full scholarships this year. One (1) scholarship is available for active members of the Young Texan Ambassadors, and two (2) scholarships are available for affiliate staff and/or volunteers. Please see "Eligibility" for more details. Each scholarship includes (1) full registration including (1) ticket to the GCAA Awards Dinner and (1) pre-conference workshop. Please note the scholarship does not include funding for travel or hotel accommodations.
Eligibility: Applicants must be an executive director, coordinator, board member or volunteer of a KTB Official affiliate in Good Standing for 2021, as well as projected Good Standing for 2022, or an active member of the Young Texan Ambassadors (YTA). An affiliate community may only be awarded a maximum of one (1) scholarship.
Conditions: Scholarships will be awarded once each year to an affiliate member. If the scholarship is awarded and not used, it is forfeited and cannot be applied to future conferences. Scholarship recipients will be responsible for the following:
- Attending the full three-day conference
- Submitting a one-page summary and an evaluation of the KTB Annual Conference, stating what was gained from attendance and how this knowledge will be put to use in your local community. Feedback must be submitted to KTB within two (2) weeks of the conclusion of the conference.
Selection Criteria: Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need of applicant's affiliate organization, past level of involvement of the applicant and/or affiliate with KTB, and the applicant's ability to share and implement what they learn in their local community. Selections will be made by the KTB Affiliate Committee.
Deadline/Questions: Applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. All applicants will receive notification of application receipt and subsequent results by June 3, 2022. Questions may be directed to Karen Maldonado, Project Manager, at karen@ktb.org.
