About the Accessibility Fund

At Young Women's Trust we want to support young women who are facing barriers to accessing technology in our network. This can be having no access to the internet (data, wifi) or not being able to connect to the internet through an appropriate device like smartphone or laptop. This is known as digital exclusion.

We want to provide young women with technology and data to better connect and access opportunities online. We have a limited number of laptops, smartphones and prepaid sim cards on offer and will do our best to provide support dependent on our budget.

Eligibility

Are you currently experiencing digital exclusion?

This means that you don't have access to the internet through data or Wi-Fi (or only have irregular internet access), and/or you cannot connect to the internet through an appropriate device like a tablet or laptop, and /or you don't have the skills that are needed to safely and confidently use the internet.

Criteria

To apply to the Accessibility Fund, you must meet at least three of the following criteria.

If you don't meet at least three criteria then we're afraid that you aren't eligible to apply to the fund. If you'd like to discuss this you can email eleanor.davieslawley@youngwomenstrust.org.

I'm in high levels of debtI'm unemployed or in low paid/insecure work e.g. earning less than £15,000 a year before tax/working on a zero hours contractI'm using food banks or dependent on an individual or organisation for food suppliesI'm engaged in a high level of unpaid work, for example caring for children or adultsI'm in receipt of or waiting for state benefitsI have a no recourse to public funds status (NRPF) I have few or no formal qualifications (NVQ Level 3/ A Level/ BTEC or below)

In this section of the form, we will ask you to confirm that you understand a few important things about your application to the Accessibility Fund.

I understand that submitting this form does not mean I will definitely get the items I have asked for.

I understand that if I am successful, I will need to sign an agreement with the Young Women's Trust to confirm I received the item and understand some simple terms and conditions for for using it.

I understand that if I receive an item through the fund I will need to provide some form of feedback to Young Women's Trust. This could be filling in a survey, giving feedback over the phone, or attending a focus group.
