Journal Submissions

.doc or .docx files preferred
Photographs
  • Please submit full-resolution photos only (minimum of 1 Megabyte per photo).
  • Please try to choose the best six (or fewer) photos to submit. If you wish to submit more, please contact the editor at editor@americanwhitewater.org
  • You MUST obtain the right from photographers to use their photos BEFORE submitting them here. If you do not have permission to use the photo(s), DO NOT submit them. American Whitewater cannot be held liable if you fail to obtain proper permission.
  • You must submit the appropriate captions and photographer credits for all photos in a separate document (see below).
  • This form cannot accept more than 25 MB of total attachments. If you need to upload more, either use multiple forms or contact the editor.







If you are submitting photos, you MUST include an attached document (preferably in .doc or .docx format) with each photo's name, caption, and photographer credit. Without photo captions/credits we cannot use your material.

Contributor Release
  • I understand that my work may be edited or cropped at the editors’ discretion
  • I understand that I will not be paid for my work, regardless of its placement in the magazine
  • I understand that any photos i submit may be printed in American Whitewater or on the cover
  • I understand that by submitting photos I have secured proper permission to use them and will be solely responsible if I have failed to do so
  • I accept responsibility for the accuracy of the information included in my submission
  • I have not libeled or slandered any individual, corporation, or agency in this work 
  • I understand that all or some of my work may be reprinted at some future date in an American Whitewater publication
  • I promise that this material has not been and will not soon be published by another magazine or publication and the rights to this material are clear and unrestricted 
  • I understand that once this material is printed in American Whitewater it may be  reprinted or reproduced in other publications if I wish, providing I notify them that it has already appeared in American Whitewater
  • I understand that the contents of American Whitewater, including my contribution, will be archived on the American Whitewater website
