Instructions and Guidelines
We're excited that you've decided to apply for admission to the Collegiate Institute Program at the Institute for Responsible Citizenship.

The online application for admission is broken down into several small pages. Please complete the information on each page, review your information at the end, then submit your application. 

Keep in mind that:
  • All fields marked with an asterisk (*) on the application are required.
  • You must click the 'Submit' button at the end to send your application to us. 
  • Review your application at the end before you submit it.
Interested candidates must meet the following guidelines:

African American Male College Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors
Applicants must have freshmen, sophomore or junior standing at an accredited college or university. Second year community college students are welcome to apply, but must show proof of acceptance to a four-year institution before beginning their first semester in the Collegiate Institute.

Campus Involvement
Applicants should be active members of their campus communities, including student organizations, arts or athletic programs, and community service activities.

One-Year Commitment
Applicants must be willing to commit for the duration of the semester or year-long program in the Collegiate Institute. Participants are encouraged to continue with the program the years leading up to their college graduation, but it is not required.

Your recommender may provide their letter to you in a sealed envelope or email them in PDF form directly to cganges@theinstitute.net.
