Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Rescue America! This is a male or female role. This form should take 15-20 minutes to complete. We request that every applicant submit a background check and upload a copy of their drivers license. Background check instructions are found at the end of this application and will cost $11.50. After we have received and processed your application, a member of the Rescue America leadership team will contact you.

Rescue America reserves the right to accept or decline potential volunteers based on Rescue America's current needs and requirements within the organization. If you have any questions, please send them to volunteers@rescueamerica.ngo.

Statement of Faith
We invite those who are interested in positions involving personal interaction with our survivors to share our fundamental beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith and commit to abstain from the following exploitive behaviors. If you do not share these beliefs or are unable to make the following commitments, please decline from signing and we will follow up with you.  

● I believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice. (Heb 4:12, 2 Tim 3:16, 1 Thess 2:13) 

● I believe that all are sinners in need of a Savior, Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him alone for salvation. (John 3:14-18, 8:24) 

● I believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength, wisdom, and power to trust and live as Christ. (Gal 2:20, Rom 8:12-13) 

● I believe that every aspect of the Christian life is to be lived for the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. (Rom 8:9-11) 

● I commit to support and honor the healing of every person in sexual bondage and live free from exploitive behaviors that gratify my flesh, abstaining from pornography and sexual relations that are outside the context of Biblical purity. (Gal 5:13-25)

Background Check
Every Rescue America volunteer must have a background check completed once this application form has been submitted. The results of your background check will not necessarily disqualify you from serving with us.

Please go to www.sterlingvolunteers.com and provide information to complete a full criminal and sex offender background check. The cost is $11.

Once it is completed, we will automatically be notified and there is nothing else for you to do.

Volunteer Commitment
I understand that as a Rescue America volunteer Outreach Hub Ambassador, I will have direct access to victims and survivors of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking. I understand that Rescue America depends on my commitment to serve and allocates other volunteers and staff based on my commitment to serve. I agree to keep my volunteer commitments to Rescue America. If I am unable to fulfill a commitment, I will communicate at least one week in advance of the change. 

I understand that all volunteer Outreach Hub Ambassadors are expected to attend quarterly Outreach Hub Ambassador meetings and occasional training. Volunteer Outreach Hub Ambassadors will complete an initial background check and adhere to the policies outlined in the Rescue America Outreach Hub Manual, the Waiver Form, and the Confidentiality Agreement.


Waiver Form
This Waiver and Release of Liability, Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement (this “Agreement”) is executed by (the “Volunteer” or “I’) in favor of Rescue America, the Rescue America Board of Directors, Rescue America staff members and volunteers and any other Rescue America agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”). 

I have completed or will complete Rescue America's volunteer training on and agree to comply with the policies and procedures taught to the best of my ability. 

I, the Volunteer desire to work as a volunteer for Rescue America. I am voluntarily agreeing to be an unpaid volunteer for Rescue America in connection with Rescue America's day-to-day activities, events, and activities related thereto (collectively, the “Events”). I hereby acknowledge that I am not an employee of any of the Released Parties and I may terminate or be terminated from my volunteer position at any time for any reason. I recognize that participation in the Events is a potentially hazardous activity and I willingly assume all risks associated with such participation, including, but not limited to, entering dangerous areas and at-risk communities where alcohol, drugs and weapons may be present; falls; contact with other volunteers, employees or others, or vehicular or other traffic; the effects of the weather, including heat, slippery surfaces and falling overhead objects, all such being known and appreciated by me.

I hereby understand and agree to the following:
 
I covenant not to sue the Released Parties in connection with, and agree to WAIVE and RELEASE, INDEMNIFY and HOLD HARMLESS the Released Parties from, all present and future claims and liability of any kind, known or unknown, arising out of my participation in the Events, even though such claim or liability may arise out of negligence, gross negligence or fault on the part of any of the Released Parties. I hereby further agree that this Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas. 

I agree that the Released Parties do not assume any responsibility or liability for my personal safety, expenses, medical treatment or compensation for any injury I may suffer during or resulting from my participation as a volunteer with Rescue America. I also understand that I am free to refuse to engage in any activity at any time for any reason and will only serve as I see fit understanding the risks involved. 

I DO HEREBY, FOR MYSELF, MY HEIRS, EXECUTORS AND ADMINISTRATORS VOLUNTARILY WAIVE, RELEASE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE ANY AND ALL RIGHTS AND CLAIMS OF NEGLIGENCE, GROSS NEGLIGENCE AND STRICT LIABILITY THAT I MAY HAVE OR THAT MAY HEREAFTER ACCRUE TO ME ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH MY PARTICIPATION IN ANY RESCUE AMERICA ACTIVITY OR EVENT. IN SIGNING THIS RELEASE, I ACKNOWLEDGE AND REPRESENT THAT I HAVE READ THE AGREEMENT, UNDERSTAND IT AND SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY OF MY OWN FREE WILL AND THAT NO ORAL REPRESENTATIONS, STATEMENTS, OR INDUCEMENTS, APART FROM THE FOREGOING WRITTEN AGREEMENT, HAVE BEEN MADE. 

I understand that this Agreement has important legal consequences and limits my ability to recover money if I am injured as a result of my participation as a volunteer with Rescue America. I understand that no one with Rescue America has any authority to make me do anything I do not freely wish to do or to make representations inconsistent with this Waiver. I have been given the opportunity to discuss the terms and consequences of this Agreement with an attorney of my choosing. 

I affirm that I am at least 18 years old and I authorize Rescue America to conduct a criminal background check on me when necessary. I understand and agree that a copy of this form will be kept on file with Rescue America. 

I have read and understand the above. 

Confidentiality Agreement
I, a team member (the “Recipient”) at Rescue America (“Rescue America”) agree to the following: 

1. Scope of Agreement. In entering this Agreement, I acknowledge I am doing so in consideration of my continued association with Rescue America. It is understood and agreed that Rescue America may provide certain information that is and must be kept confidential, and therefore, the parties are entering into this Agreement to ensure the protection of such information and to preserve any confidentiality necessary. 

2. Confidential Information Defined. “Confidential Information” means any nonpublic information pertaining to Rescue America's operations and any information pertaining to individuals served by Rescue America. Confidential Information includes information disclosed by Rescue America to you, and information developed or learned by you during the course of or as a result of your association with Rescue America , which you also agree is Rescue America's property. Confidential Information includes, without limitation, information and documents concerning the names, contact information, identifying characteristics, photographs, personal stories and locations of contact of individuals seeking or receiving the help of Rescue America, or who have otherwise contacted Rescue America, at any time, for any reason related to its mission. The Recipient will not disclose the Confidential Information obtained from Rescue America unless required to do so by law. 

3. Safeguarding, Use and Disclosure of Confidential Information. I agree that the Confidential Information is highly confidential. Accordingly, I will not use or disclose Confidential Information except as expressly permitted herein. Further, I will: 

(a) safeguard the Confidential Information from unauthorized use or disclosure; 
(b) use the Confidential Information only as directed by Rescue America; 
(c) not make copies of any Confidential Information unless directed by Rescue America; 
(d) disclose the Confidential Information only to persons who have signed a confidentiality agreement at Rescue America's express direction and who have a need to know the Confidential Information in order to further the mission of Rescue America, or as required by law. 

4. Breach. I agree that unauthorized use or disclosure of Confidential Information by me would cause irreparable injury and harm to Rescue America for which Rescue America would not have an adequate remedy at law, and for which Rescue America shall be entitled to obtain ex parte equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction, without the necessity of posting bond, in addition to pursuing other remedies at law or equity. This Agreement imposes no obligation upon Recipient with respect to any Confidential Information (a) that was in Recipient’s possession on a non-confidential basis before receipt from Rescue America; (b) is or becomes a matter of public knowledge through no fault of Recipient; (c) is rightfully received by Recipient from a third party not owing a duty of confidentiality to Rescue America; or (d) is disclosed without a duty of confidentiality to a third party by, or with the authorization of Rescue America; or (e) is independently derived by Recipient. 

5. Return/Destruction of Confidential Information. I will immediately return any Confidential Information in my possession upon the request of Rescue America. 

6. No Employment Resulting from this Agreement. This Agreement is solely to establish the confidentiality and non-disclosure standards between Rescue America and me; this Agreement will not serve as proof of employment or agency between Rescue America and me. 

7. Governing Law; Forum. This Agreement shall be construed under the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to the principles of conflicts of law. I agree and consent that jurisdiction and venue of all matters relating to this Agreement shall be vested exclusively in the federal, state and local courts in Harris County, Texas. 

8. Severability. If any of the provisions of this Agreement are found to be unenforceable, the remainder shall be enforced as fully as possible and the unenforceable provision(s) shall be deemed modified to the limited extent required to permit enforcement of the Agreement as a whole. 

WHEREFORE, the parties acknowledge that they have read and understand this Agreement and voluntarily accept the duties and obligations set forth herein. 

Release Statement
Please read the following carefully before signing this volunteer application: I hereby state that the information given by me in this application, in interviews, or by any other means is true and complete in all respects, and I agree that if any information is found to be false or incomplete in any respect, I will be subject to rejection of my application or termination of my service. I give permission for an investigation to be conducted now or at any time during my service. I authorize personal references and any other persons or organizations that maintain this information to provide it upon receipt of this authorization, and I release all such persons and organizations from any liabilities or damages on account of having furnished such information in good faith. I specifically authorize the release of any criminal history information, which may be in the files of any state or local criminal justice agency. Should I become accepted, I authorize Rescue America to answer such questions for the benefit of future churches or ministries conducting similar investigations. Should my application be accepted, I agree to be bound by the policies of Rescue America.
