Outward Bound courses are physically and emotionally challenging and involve learning to work cooperatively with a group of peers comprising diverse identities and lived experiences. It is NOT a recreational summer camp and should in no way be considered a vacation. Please comment on this student's capacity to be respectful even when anxious, tired, frustrated or uncomfortable.

Outward Bound is a place for students to grow and develop. Please comment on this student's ability to manage stress in difficult situations, and whether you feel they will be able to complete a multi-day backpacking expedition.

Scholarship Mentor Acknowledgement

As a nominator of a Pinnacle Scholar, I agree to support my student through the application process. I will help them to prepare for their course, and assist them with travel to and from the course start and end location.

I understand that the student's place is not secure until all enrollment materials are returned and their application is approved and medically cleared by Outward Bound California's Student Services team. I agree to help this student meet all paperwork deadlines and adhere to all standard review policies.
