Important note about the Skill Workshop for APPs (nurse practitioners and physician assistants):

This workshop session will comprise the following special design, based around co-presentations between an SIR clinician-proctor and a vendor representative:
---
Overall breakdown of all hands-on stations (APP workshop only)
  • 2 US-guided vascular access clinical, hands-on demos
  • 2 US-guided biopsy aspiration clinical, hands-on demos
  • 2 drain/catheter/tube care clinical, hands-on demos
  • Various, additional didactic (non-hands-on) stations
---
Composition of each station (APP workshop only)
  • A volunteer clinician (such as nurse practitioner or physician assistant, appointed/vetted by SIR) as the proctor for presenting on the stated clinical skill
  • One to two industry representatives assigned by your company to co-present with the SIR proctor on the various skills and devices
  • Sufficient quantities of non-sterile, functioning samples of your clinical devices and products
  • A model, phantom, or other learning aid, plus any other ancillary materials, that would help ensure a truly thorough/detailed hands-on demo is complete
  • The above elements are required.  Your application to join this session will be evaluated for completeness and quality and accepted only if the SIR committee deems it to meet their expectations.
* Exhibitor applications to ALL hands-on workshops are highly encouraged to be designed for thoroughness and completeness, such as including vascular models or other learning aids. For the APP workshop, applications will be evaluated critically for thoroughness in presenting a detailed hands-on experience; applications that do not promise to provide a complete learning experience will be rejected.
** Please remember that the APP workshop (and this workshop only) will entail assignment of an SIR-vetted proctor to your station.  The hands-on demo you produce will require acceptance of this proctor to co-present with your corporate representatives.  All other SIR hands-on workshops will not feature this proctor component (your hands-station will be staffed only by your representatives).
