The Massachusetts Service Alliance (MSA) has released this Initial Application for organizations interested in hosting Commonwealth Corps members for the August 2025 - June 2026 service term. Submission of this form is required as part of a full application for the Commonwealth Corps host site partner grant. This process will support MSA's management of the application workflow, including the selection of community reviewers. We also hope it serves as a useful resource for organizations as they complete the full application in January. The responses provided here can be reused in the full application, and this initial submission will not be evaluated as part of the final host site application.

Program design consultation and feedback is not available once the full request for proposals has been released and the grant competition is open, which will be in early January.

Review of Partnership Expectations

Please review the Host Site Requirements (programmatic, administrative, and fiscal) found on the Commonwealth Corps website. The following is an abbreviated list of partnership expectations to consider as part of your application.

As a Commonwealth Corps Host Site Partner Organization, you would be responsible for the following:

- Partnership contribution of $2,500* per half-time member and $4,500* per full time member, including a $250 nonrefundable deposit per member slot due at the start of the partnership. (*These amounts are reviewed annually and subject to change.);

- Working with MSA prior to service to finalize performance measures, position descriptions, and other required partnership details;

- Active recruitment of your members in consultation with MSA, including selecting finalists for submission to MSA by July 31st, 2025;

- Providing on-site supervision/support/training for members, including weekly check-ins;

- Providing adequate work space and resources (desk, computer, phone) for successful service;

- Participating in Commonwealth Corps evaluation, site visits, monthly check-ins, and other events;

- Making Corps members available to attend MSA-run/Corps-wide orientation, trainings, and meetings (minimum of 6 post orientation);

- Collecting and reporting on evaluation data through a midyear and final report; and

- Promoting the Commonwealth Corps and our partnership with MSA
