The CDC-Hubert Global Health Award and the Pappaioanou Veterinary Public Health and Applied Epidemiology Award are available to CDC Epidemiology Elective Program (EEP) alumni who are ready to take the next steps on their journey to becoming leaders in the fields of public health, global health, and One Health and are interested in applying to the CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) in the near future.
Both awards include a stipend for travel to attend the 2025 EIS conference (April 22–25, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia) where EEP alumni can re-connect with their CDC networks, re-engage with leading-edge public health science, and learn more about the work and investigations being conducted by current EIS officers. Both awards also include a stipend to support additional public health training.
CDC-Hubert Global Health Award:
The CDC-Hubert Global Health Award (Hubert Award) provides a stipend for competitively selected medical or veterinary students, residents, physicians, or veterinarians who successfully completed their 6 or 8-week EEP rotation during the past five years (2020–2024). The Hubert Award is awarded annually to up to 12 EEP graduates per year. Selected applicants will receive a stipend of $1,300 each to support travel and hotel expenses to attend the 2025 EIS conference (April 22–25, 2025) and any additional public health training of their choice.
Pappaioanou Veterinary Public Health and Applied Epidemiology Award:
The Pappaioanou Veterinary Public Health and Applied Epidemiology Award (Pappaioanou Award) provides a stipend for competitively selected veterinary students, residents, or veterinarians, who successfully completed their 6 or 8-week EEP rotation during the past five years (2020–2024). The Pappaioanou Award is awarded annually to a minimum of one or two EEP graduates. The selected applicant (s) will receive a stipend of $1,300 each to support travel and hotel expenses to attend the 2025 EIS conference (April 22–25, 2025) and any additional public health training.
