Dine Around Downtown brings together and showcases some of the finest culinary establishments in Lower Manhattan, drawing thousands of guests and providing tremendous exposure for participants. This lunchtime sampling event promotes the neighborhood as a premiere dining destination for workers, residents and visitors. The event is open to the public and admission is free. Proceeds from your sales are yours to keep.

Dine Around Downtown is heavily promoted through multiple channels. As a participant, you will be included in print and electronic promotions and advertisements, paid and organic social media campaigns, the program map/menu, on-site banners and signage, and in press releases distributed citywide to publicize the event. Additionally, a hyperlink to your restaurant will be featured on the Downtown Alliance website.

Space is limited and participant acceptance is in part predicated on the order in which applications are received. We regret that we cannot guarantee participation if completed forms are received after the deadline.

Menu Submissions

We ask that you offer a sampling of up to three (3) signature menu dishes to sell for between $5 and $9 each. As always, we defer to you regarding how you would like to construct and price your menu to best represent yourself. As we curate the menus for diversity to help maximize individual sales, we may suggest alternate items or prices to help your restaurant stand out. Please note that tent signage and menus can only accommodate up to a total of three offerings, including any beverages.

Your restaurant is asked to prepare and serve a minimum of 600 portions. This quantity is dependent upon the number of dishes you are offering and the anticipated number of participating restaurants. Once your menu is approved, we will advise you on the best number of portions to bring per dish. Final portion quantities will be confirmed closer to the event date. Your restaurant will be responsible for cashiering and all proceeds are yours to keep.

Regarding "Heating Source", please keep in mind that a limited supply of electric line reservations (one line at 110 V / 15 AMP max per booth) OR charcoal grill rentals (one grill per booth) are available, subject to approval.

Heating Source Details

Charcoal Grills and Electric Lines (110 V / 15 AMP max) will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis. Participants may request one (1) grill OR one (1) electric line per tent. If your menu items require both an electric line and a grill, this application does not allow for multiple selections.  Please select the more preferred heating source in this section and we will reach out to you to discuss your menu items’ heating options.

For Electric Line requests only. Voltage and AMP usage cannot exceed 110 V / 15 AMP.

Dine Around Downtown is A Zero Waste Event – Restaurants are required to use the Alliance-provided biodegradable & compostable dining ware for food and liquids.

Supplies requested from the list below for your approved menu items will be provided as a part of your participation. Please select the serving items you require. All participants will receive recyclable napkins.

Indemnification Certificate

The Participant (whether a restaurant owner, beverage company, vendor or other business or individual), by signing below, agrees to the following requirements as a condition to its participation in Dine Around Downtown:

- Participant agrees to obtain and maintain appropriate insurance coverage governing its provision of services in an outdoor venue beyond its premises.

- Participant represents and certifies that it has, and will have, all necessary approvals, permits and certificates (including any necessary state and city health or inspection permits or certificates) to provide its services in an outdoor venue.

- Participant hereby agrees to assume all liability for, and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless, Shelley Menaged, Elly Barbour, Alliance for Downtown New York, Inc., City of New York, City of New York Department of Small Business Services, CBRE, Inc., Summit Glory Property, LLC, Deutsche Bank AG, New York Branch, as Administrative Agent, ISAOA, ATIMA, Fosun Property Holdings Limited and their subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, and agents, as their interests may appear, for any and all obligations, claims, damages, loss, penalties, actions, suits or judgments (including costs and attorneys’ fees) that may arise out of Participant’s participation in Dine Around Downtown. Participant acknowledges and agrees that it is solely responsible for the safety and protection of its employees and of the public in the vicinity of its booth, and assumes all liability therefore.

By typing your name and dating at the end of this application form you represent that you have authority to sign for the Participant.

Your and the Participant’s compliance with these requirements is a prerequisite to participation in Dine Around Downtown, and participation in Dine Around Downtown, regardless of your checking the box below, will be deemed an acceptance of, and agreement to, the requirements.

Complimentary Servings Agreement


Dine Around Downtown is widely promoted and attracts significant media coverage. It is customary to offer complimentary servings to members of the press upon presentation of valid credentials.

We also request that you provide up to ten (10) additional complimentary tastings for Sponsors who present you with a Complimentary Tasting Card or for other Dine Around Downtown promotional purposes. It is unlikely that this total number of tastings will be requested from your restaurant.

Corporate Courtesy Card Servings Agreement

To help promote Dine Around Downtown and your restaurant, the Downtown Alliance will engage with a number of neighborhood corporations to encourage their employees to attend the event. A limited number of Corporate Courtesy Cards will be provided so that their employees can sample participants’ offerings free-of-charge to them. We ask that you provide a complimentary serving to guests who present you with a Corporate Courtesy Card and place these cards in the envelope that will be provided to you upon arrival. A staff member will collect the envelope from you at the end of the event, and the Downtown Alliance will reimburse you $9 for each card submitted regardless of whether or not they choose a less expensive menu item. Reimbursements will be issued via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) within 5-10 business days. Please complete the information below to expedite your payment:

Participation Fee

This fee helps to defray costs for tent rentals, staffing, security, marketing, promotion, serving and prep tables, signage, ice and tubs, compostable utensils and dining ware for food and liquids, multiple stream compost, recycling, and waste stations and liners, as well as zero waste ambassadors and a dedicated compost and recycling hauler for sustainable disposal -- all of which we provide.

Security Deposit Authorization

• $500 – NOT charged upon application submission
Due to the rising costs of production, in order to waive the Participation Fee for all restaurants, a security deposit authorization is required from all participants. This amount will not be charged unless the participating restaurant withdraws from their commitment to participate in Dine Around Downtown 2023.
