Persons who have direct or material interests who may be adversely affected by SEIA standards have the right to appeal.
A written appeal must be provided to standards@seia.org within 14 calendar days after notification of the action or at any time with regards to inaction. Each appeal shall be accompanied by a nonrefundable filing fee of $1,200. No action on the appeal will take place without a payment with the appeal fee. The filing fee may be waived or reduced upon sufficient evidence of financial hardship upon written request and must include an explanation of why the fee is a burden.
All appeals shall be fair and impartial. The Standard Technical Committee Chair and Vice Chair will decide if the Appeal further proceeds to the Executive Standards Committee to create an Appeals Panel. The Appeals Panel will consist of individuals that have not been directly involved in the dispute, have general working knowledge of the issue, and who will not be materially affected by any decision made in the dispute.
