Time Commitment

Girls Write Now expects volunteer coaches to meet with their clients on a biweekly basis over the period of four (4) months, which is the length of the Girls Write Now Coaching Corps program. Are there any significant challenges or obstacles you are aware of professionally and/or personally that may prevent you from fulfilling this time commitment (e.g. starting a new job or project, changing locations, etc)? If there aren't any, simply write "None."

Background Check

Girls Write Now must conduct background checks for all applicants who are being considered for the Girls Write Now Coaching Corps. Background checks are conducted in accordance with standards set forth by MENTORING: National Mentoring Partnership of New York, our insurance company and applicable federal and state law.

Background checks are conducted through Sterling Volunteers and have a state fee as well as a Sterling processing fee. The fees by state vary, with New York being the highest at $94. Sterling's processing fee is $19.
