Women of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) relies on volunteer leaders for our 40+ chapters across North America and our six committees to support our mission to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and equitable energy future by igniting the collective power of community. 

Our Leadership Forum Planning committees assist with the planning and execution for the annual WRISE Leadership Forum. Please see the sub-committee descriptions on the second page of this form.

WRISE Leadership Forum Sub-Committees

Please read through the descriptions of the Leadership Forum sub-committees and select the committee(s) you're interested in below: 


Content & Programming
This committee is responsible for ensuring we deliver compelling, engaging, and relevant (personally and professionally) content and programming for the Leadership Forum, ensuring programming caters to key demographics (next generation of industry professionals, mid-career, and executive level). They are responsible for selecting the topics, speakers/panelists, and moderators for all sessions during the conference.

Professional Development
This committee is responsible for coordinating and planning the following professional development opportunities and events: career coaches, professional headshots, recruiters - resume critiques and mock interviews workshop, and day in the life videos. 

Community & Participant Engagement
This committee is responsible for curating and executing various activities that ensure the attendees are engaged, enjoying the conference and capturing/showcasing the spirit of the event. They will also be responsible for coordinating, finding facilitators, and providing guidance for the Brave Spaces and ensuring attendees have the safe space to discuss issues around their identity. Specifically, they will be responsible for the following: 4 small groups of community development sessions (45 min each), onsite social media campaign by attendees, and the Brave Spaces for attendees identifying as AAPI, Black, Indigenous, Latina/Latinx, LGBTQ+, parents/caregivers, and allies.

Dine Around Event(s), Tours, and Logistics
This committee is responsible for the Leadership Forum experiences for attendees that are fun, enlightening, and accessible, including the coordination and planning of: dine around events, tour options and activities, formal and informal networking events, input on opening and closing receptions, input on conference app, crowd control and on-ground logistics. 

Sponsorship
This committee is responsible for securing a number of sponsor dollars to offset the costs of the Leadership Forum and gain revenue for WRISE. This group will tap into their network and those of the WRISE community to identify potential sponsors, especially in new areas, and pass to WRISE staff to complete the invoicing/payment collection.
