Division I Recruiting Survey - January 4, 2024

The CSCAA is asking Division I coaches for input on recruiting start dates, specific to 2024 and in a general sense. Your feedback is appreciated.

All responses should be submitted by Wednesday, January 10th.

The initial recruiting start date for PSAs graduating in 2026 is June 15, 2024.

USA Swimming Olympic Trials begins on June 15.
USA Diving Olympic Trials starts on June 16th.
Both swimming and diving OTs end on June 23rd.

With this in mind, please provide feedback to the following questions:

In 2020, legislation was enacted, allowing initial contact with a PSA on June 15th after their sophomore year and in-person contact on August 1st after their sophomore year.

In 2022, the CSCAA gathered feedback from Division I coaches and 82% of responses indicating that a later start date would benefit both coaches and PSAs. The preferred start dates for recruiting PSAs, in order, were:

June 15th after a PSA's junior year
April 1st during a PSA's junior year
January 1st during a PSA's junior year

The CSCAA plans to meet with NCAA colleagues to review the current recruiting timeline for swimming & diving PSAs.
