Certificate of Insurance (COI): Festival Vendors must also provide an Insurance Certificate naming the Chicago Defender Charities and the Chicago Park District as additionally insureds subject to a combined single limit of at least $1,000,000 (one million dollars) each occurrence and $1,000,000 (one million dollars) in the aggregate for bodily injury and property damage with regard to use at Washington Park. Chicago Defender Charities Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival Rules Of Governance The Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival is for children. Its purpose is to provide entertainment and recreation for them and their families. As a parade participant, you agree to be photographed, videotaped and grant the Chicago Defender Charities permission to put the finished footage/photography to any uses that it may deem proper including (though not limited to) marketing, advertising and PR related activities (using - though not limited to - print, radio, television, internet and social media). You hereby release, discharge and agree to hold harmless the Chicago Defender Charities, its affiliates, employees, officers, and directors from any liability or claimed liability in connection with the aforementioned use of your photograph, name, likeness or performance, including, but not limited to, any claim you have or might have for invasion of privacy, misappropriation and/or defamation.

The Chicago Defender Charities, Incorporated (“Charities”) reserves the right to deny permission to participate in the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival to any individual, group, company or organization that does not fully comply with these Rules of Governance.

Any individual, group, company or organization permitted to participate in the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival agrees to abide by all rules and regulations now or hereafter promulgated by Charities. Failure to comply by any individual, group, company or organization will result in the denial of participation in the Bud Billiken™ Parade and/or Festival. Charities will have the sole right to determine any participant’s failure to comply with these Rules of Governance.

Charities has the right to approve or disapprove the wording of any sign carried or otherwise displayed in the Bud Billiken™ Parade or Festival.

Charities reserves the rights to limit the number of marchers in the parade on behalf of any particular participant.

Charities reserves the right to approve uniforms, costumes or other clothing worn by individuals, companies, groups or members of any organization participating in the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival.

Charities reserves the right to approve messages, sound, wording, music or video used by participants in the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival.

Each participating individual, group, company or members of any participating organization will comply with all applicable federal, state, county and local laws and ordinances at all times in connection with the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival and agrees to do so by participating in the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival.

The foregoing rules prescribe the terms of participation in the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival. All participants must adhere to the above Rules of Governance, and any other rules or regulations promulgated by Charities at any time.

I agree to uphold all rules and regulations of the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival, Chicago Park District, the City of Chicago, and the State of Illinois.

I further fully release and discharge, and hold harmless the Bud Billiken™ Parade, Chicago Defender Charities, Inc., and its officers, staff, employees & agents, all sponsors, Chicago Park District, the City of Chicago, and the State of Illinois from any and all claims from injuries, including death, damages or loss of property which I may have or which may impact me on account of my participation in the activities of the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival.

I, further agree and grant Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival, the Chicago Defender Charities, Inc., and its officers, staff, and agents will not assume liability for any act of God, natural disaster, exposure to adverse weather and conditions, damages, injuries or any legal authority, war, insurrection, civil disobedience, criminal acts, or any cause above and beyond the control of Chicago Defender Charities, Inc., the Bud Billiken™ Parade and Festival and the officers, agents, employees, sponsors, and the City of Chicago and Chicago Park District.
