A summary of the request, including the purpose of the event, the rationale, and the main audience(s) served. Maximum 1200 characters (about 200 words).


When is the event you are seeking funding for? (It must take place between 4/15/25 and 3/31/26.)

If this is a multi-day event, when does the convening end? (If this is a one-day event, please leave this blank.)

The funding request must be within $20,000 and $80,000 (inclusive), in increments of $10,000.

The overall cost of the event, which may be equal to or greater than the request to the Heising-Simons Foundation. The total event cost must be less than $500,000.

Names of any other confirmed or likely funders of the event (e.g., NSF). Please write N/A if not applicable.
Proposal Materials

Please provide the following materials (as requested in the Proposal Guidelines) in any standard document or image format (MSWord, PDF, Excel, Google Docs, jpeg, etc).  Use the "Choose File" button if you would like to upload an attachment, or use the Text Box if you would like to link to a Google Doc or similar.

A description of the event including, e.g., the rationale for the event, the goals, intended outcomes, and expected impact of the event on the field, the expected attendees and communities served by the event, a brief explanation of why the event is difficult to fund through other sources, a draft event agenda, if available, and to the extent to which it applies, considerations related to inclusion, diversity, and accessibility. Links to existing documents/information are welcome to replace or enhance the description.
