About Environmental Grantmakers Association
Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA) is a non-profit membership organization made up of over 215 foundations that support people and the planet. Our community of environmental funders represents a diverse range of foundations spanning North America and the globe—including public, community, family, and corporate foundations. In 2020, EGA members gave more than $1.91 billion dollars domestically and internationally to environmental issues.
What We Do
EGA works with members and partners to promote just, effective philanthropy for people and the planet. Our annual convenings, peer learning spaces, and services catalyze our network of environmental funders to be high-impact leaders working together as a force for equitable and sustainable ecosystems, communities, and economies.
Our Values
EGA values stewardship, collaboration, transparency, accountability, and equity. Our work is informed by our Racial Equity POV, a collective commitment by EGA’s board, staff, and members, to advance racial equity in environmental philanthropy. Through engaging members on a wide spectrum of environmental issues framed up through the lens of racial equity, EGA is driving the collective power of environmental philanthropy to build a healthy world with just and sustainable communities, economies, and systems.
