The Rise Up Leadership and Advocacy Training provides passionate social justice advocates and community changemakers training, funding, and connection to a global network to expand their impact to achieve large-scale systemic policy change at local, state, and national levels. 

Eligibility:
  1. Have a commitment to advancing systemic change in government systems, programs, laws, and policies affecting economic and educational opportunities, human rights, immigrant rights, social justice and equity, health, and wellbeing of women, girls, and gender nonconforming people in California.
  2. Work at a nonprofit organization, grassroots organization, media, or government organization at a level of coordination or management including some level of decision-making power.
  3. Join in-person for training on September 22-27, 2024, in the Bay Area, CA.
  4. Have at least 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Education
    • Immigration 
    • Housing
    • Youth Development 
    • Economic Justice/Poverty Alleviation 
    • Racial Justice 
    • LGBTQIA+ rights,
    • Human Rights 
    • Media 
    • Criminal Legal System Reform
    • Public Policy or Advocacy 
    • Civic Engagement and Democracy 
    • Reproductive Justice 
    • Climate and Enviromental Justice 
Past cohorts included a wide range of social justice areas that intersect with gender equity, such as: racial justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, criminal legal system reform, immigration, housing, education, climate and environment, civil rights and democracy, reproductive justice health and justice, and economic justice.
