Apply for a Summer Camp Volunteer Position

Our Summer Camps run for 8 weeks from July 2 – August 23, 2024, and unleash kids' creativity through a variety of art activities. artsPlace is seeking responsible, caring, and committed volunteers interested in working with children ages 6-12 years.

Shifts are daily (Monday-Friday) at artsPlace.

You can choose between:

Full-day shift: 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, 7 hours (with a 30-minute break)
Morning shift: 8:30 AM-12:30 PM, 4 hours
Afternoon shift: 1:00 AM-4:00 PM, 3 hours

For our Summer Camps volunteers, we are looking for people that:

Can commit for a minimum of one full week
Have experience working with children 6-12 years old, (for example babysitting, daycare, volunteering with elementary schools, day camps and other children’s programs);
Are patient, caring, friendly, committed, responsible and adaptable;
Have the ability to relate to children;
Have effective verbal communication skills;
Have the ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions well;
Volunteers over the age of 18 are required to complete a Criminal Record Check.

Summer Camp Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

Summer Camps volunteers work closely with staff and teachers to ensure the safety and participation of students in the camp.

Specific duties include:

Welcoming students each day;

Assisting the instructors with classroom set up and clean up;
Escorting students to and from the classroom;
Working one-on-one with students who need support;
Supervising students in the classroom, and during break times and transitions.
