The British Science Association (BSA) is looking for highly-engaged science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) professionals, including STEM Ambassadors and educators, to become CREST Assessors, an integral part of the CREST Awards scheme.

Our CREST Assessors are highly-engaged and knowledgeable members of the STEM and education community. They help to support, grow and diversify the students who are interested and involved in science. Providing high quality assessments is a key element of the CREST programme.

You will be assessing CREST Award projects from students aged 14 to 19, providing constructive feedback and encouragement. In doing so, you will be helping to develop students’ interest and attitudes towards science.

Subject to your availability, you can assess up to ten Silver Awards, or six Gold Awards per month, or a combination thereof. Assessors are expected to assess at least two projects per month at either level.

Eligibility


You would be paid £6 per Silver assessment completed (30 mins work) and £9 per Gold assessment completed (45 mins work). Some of our assessors are volunteers, kindly donating their time to support us develop students’ interest and attitudes towards science, along with their scientific and project skills.
