Thank you for your interest in applying for Financial Assistance. Though we are not able to award full Financial Assistance or provide assistance for students taking private lessons only, we do try to help alleviate the costs for your family so your child(ren) can participate in our program.
Need-Based Financial Assistance will be awarded after all required financial documentation has been submitted. We encourage you to submit your documentation as soon as possible as financial assistance resources are limited and so you can plan accordingly. Awards are sent out by email so please keep a close look at the email that you provided.
Before completing this form, please ensure you have the following digital documents to upload:- Last Year's Tax Return (or a letter of extension) OR CDBG Form if Last Year's Tax Return is unavailable OR
- Two consecutive pay stubs from your employer OR
- Any additional financial documents you can provide to verify income (for example: letter from an employer, SSI/Disability/Unemployment Verification).
If you unable to upload the documents, you must bring them to the office. Please mark to the attention of Ms. Ena Gomez.
This is a reminder that you must REGISTER for classes and APPLY for Financial Assistance at the same time for your application to be complete.All information is kept private and is only used for funding purposes.As a recipient of Financial Assistance
Upon receiving Financial Assistance from The Institute of Music for Children you will be required to complete the following before your child's program ends:
Volunteering 1 hour each semester per child.
Example 2 children enrolled for 24 weeks (2 semesters); you would have to volunteer for 4 hours by the end of the 24-week program. There are many opportunities to volunteer at the Institute from helping with our Snack Shack, helping with our fundraisers, to office organization. Teens enrolled in our program are welcome to also volunteer.
Please be aware that the volunteer opportunities are shared at our Membership Meetings and therefore, you must attend one Membership Meeting in order to find out the process for signing up for volunteer opportunities.
TestimonialA parent or student (12 years or older) will have to submit a testimonial sharing their experience with the Institute. The testimonial can be written (2 paragraphs or more) or in a video format, in English or in Spanish. All testimonials will be due at least one month before your child's classes end and should be emailed to Ms. Ena at egomez@instituteofmusic.org. If you would like some assistance with this, please see Ms. Ena.
We ask that you keep in contact with us and maintain clear communication if you have any questions/concerns about payment, payment schedule, or requirements. Failure to complete these requirements will result in loss of Financial Assistance and the family will be responsible for the total cost of the classes (at the Member Rate) and may be ineligible for assistance in future semesters.
Someone from the Institute will be reaching out to you make sure that we have all the required documentation. We may want to schedule a Financial Assistance interview. Please be aware, your Financial Assistance application is not complete until we have all the required documentation. Once your award amount is determined a scheduled payment plan will be provided.Thank you.
