Kalaniyot: Planting the Seeds of Hope & Healing - October 6, 2024

Join us on Sunday morning, October 6 from 9:30am-12:00pm, for a community-wide project centered on the Israeli national flower, the Kalaniyot. The red anemone flower grows throughout Israel and appears every winter, sharing its bright red bloom in a season of austere colors and temperatures. Since October 7, as Kalaniyot began to bloom at the site of the Nova Festival, the flowers have become a new Jewish symbol of hope, healing, loss and resilience.

In solidarity with artists who have honored the victims and survivors of October 7 with beautiful and heartbreaking artwork featuring Kalaniyot, join us at Temple Isaiah for a series of workshops that will invite our hands, hearts, minds and souls to find space for reflection and connection. Flowers may be taken home to add to your own personal acts of remembrance, and/or may be added to our lobby or sanctuary for Temple Isaiah’s October 7 memorial.
