PENCIL works closely with your teachers and other school staff to introduce you to a team of business professionals ready to share new college and career opportunities and help you prepare for success after high school. The business professionals have committed to working with you throughout the year and we ask that you make a similar commitment.

If you have any questions about this form or PENCIL's partnership program, please speak with your teacher or PENCIL Program Manager.

Appropriateness of Conduct

Students will not engage in unsupervised contact with the business volunteers, including texting, talking on the phone, or meeting in person outside of Partnership activities.  Interactions between students and Business Volunteers take place only at Partnership activities under the supervision of school staff and PENCIL.

Students may not exchange emails with any business volunteers, except under the supervision of the school liaison and/or Partnership Manager who will be copied on all email exchanges.

Students must immediately inform the school liaison or PENCIL staff if a business professional makes a student feel uncomfortable or asks the student to meet outside of partnership activities.  This includes the times directly before or after a partnership session.  Students are not allowed to meet with business volunteers outside of partnership activities supervised by school staff and PENCIL.

Students must respect the cultural, religious, and economic differences, ideas, and values of the business volunteers in all interactions.  Students should not engage in any communication with the business volunteers that includes swearing, references to disabilities, sexual content, racist, sexist or homophobic language.

Students are expected to attend ALL Partnership sessions. Students should notify their school liaison if they will not be able to attend a scheduled event. Unexcused absences from Partnership activities may result in dismissal from the program.

Students are expected to be respectful of the business volunteers time and follow through with all their commitments and deadlines associated with the Partnership including those requiring work at home and between Partnership sessions.
