Transgender Day of Remembrance: Transforming our Pain into Power.
Welcome! The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center (The Center) is hosting its annual Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) event on November 20th, 2024, from 6-9 p.m. ET. For that reason we would like to invite members of the community to join us as performers for this event.
TDoR is a time to remember those in the transgender community whose lives have been lost to violence, marginalization, and prejudice. It's a time to gather with the community to create space for healing. It's also a time to renew our commitment to create a brighter for our transgender siblings; to care for one another; to remind each other that even when the world seems hard and our challenges insurmountable, we will continue our commitment to end the injustices our community faces due to ignorance, bigotry, and oppression.
We invite you to join the event by creatively sharing your personal reflections of hope, grief, solidarity, and resilience. Performances can vary, but there will only be five performance slots available to trans artists/performers/creators. Each performer will get a 10 minute time slot.
The deadline to apply is Monday, November 4th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET. We will inform performers of our decision by November 8, 2024.
