Insecure Work Research: Sign Up Form

Thank you for your interest in Young Women's Trust. Without volunteers, progress in our research would be impossible.

Please read the information below before continuing:

About us

Young Women's Trust champions young women aged 18 to 30 on low or no pay.

We're here to create a more equal world of work and raise young women's incomes. We tackle sexism and misogyny, with and for anyone who has experienced this. Find out about the free services we offer and about our research and campaigns on our website.

We want to hear about your experiences of insecure work for our latest research

We are looking for young women and people with marginalised gender identities aged 18 to 30 with experience of insecure work in England or Wales in the past five years.

When we talk about insecure work, we mean any of the following:

·        Non-permanent work -  such as agency, seasonal or fixed-term jobs,
·        Where you are underemployed (working less than 16 hours per week but want to work more)
·        Where you have unpredictable pay and hours,
·        Zero-hour contracts (no specified minimum hours per week) and,
·        Low-paid self-employed work.

Our research shows that over a third of young women are worried about job security, including how long their job will last for. We want to find out more. Through this research, we want to understand young women's experiences of insecure work, the reasons for taking it on and what pathways out of insecure work look like.

All research activities will be led or facilitated by our peer researchers. Our peer researchers are all young women and non binary people who have experience of the issues we tackle and have been trained to carry out research with other young people with similar experiences.

We will use the findings from this research to work together with policymakers and employers to develop solutions to the barriers young women face and support young women to advocate for themselves.
