School Launch Fellowship - Letter of Intent

The Letter of Intent serves as an opportunity for the selection committee to get to know candidates as individuals and their capacity to lead complex projects with a focus on school leadership, equity, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. This is also a candidates first opportunity to introduce the selection committee to the school model and vision they have for their new school.

Open Ended Questions: Please take time to describe your experiences for our selection committee. Ensure that you are answering all the questions thoroughly and succinctly. All essays have a maximum word amount of 750 words. 




Section 2: School Vision & Mission

All essays have a maximum word amount of 750 words. 

Key Definitions to complete this section: 

Vision: A vision statement is where the school hopes they will be going in the future if they can fulfill  their mission. 


Mission: The mission statement describes what you plan to do, who you plan to serve, and the benefit  that your school will provide.

Section 3: Student Achievement
3.1 Provide a presentation below of your existing school(‘s) data and evidence of advancing student proficiency and growth. Please use a range of quantitative measures, including the most recently released data.
  • Please provide achievement data and student suspension/expulsion data that is disaggregated by race.
  • Provide the results you have achieved at your school(s), and describe your direct involvement in achieving the results. 
  • Provide your continued goals for student growth and performance in your existing school as well as in the first five years of your new school’s launch. 
  • Describe the leadership strategies you deployed to support students who qualify for the following support services: Special Education Supports, Multilingual Supports, etc.
  • Describe the instructional leadership model that you will use to ensure accountability toward the goals you hope to achieve.
