About Come to the Table:
Come to the Table's mission is to empower faith communities to participate in the creation of a just food system through collaboration, capacity building, and advocacy.

About "Food &" Retreat:

Geared for faith leaders (clergy and laity), this retreat aims to deepen our collective understanding of ways to make change at the root causes of food insecurity. This four-session retreat will explore:

  • The stories that are told about people who are hungry, and how those stories harm our ability to affect real change in our food system.

  • The root causes of food insecurity and how they are deeply tied to systemic challenges like poverty, racism and classism.

  • How the history of welfare and charitable services have created another element of the food system that was never built to solve hunger completely.

  • How our understanding of hospitality and rights can impact how food insecurity is addressed in this country.
