Appalachian Bear Rescue holiday fundraising - holiday ornaments with pictures of bears on ornaments
We need your help. Bear rescue is always expensive, but this year and last were exceptional. We have taken in thirty-five cubs in 2024, just one bear short of our record set in 2015. Ten cubs required our help after their mothers were euthanized following serious incidents of human-bear conflict. Thirteen cubs were orphaned due to vehicle accidents that either killed their mothers or seriously injured the cubs. Many of the orphans have required extensive medical treatment, including surgeries to repair broken bones. This year, our medical bills have exceeded $45,000.

We've had cubs onsite every day since April 6, 2022. That's over 925
days of around-the-clock care, usually with more than one person on duty. We also work in our communities to spread the BearWise Tennessee message, teaching people how to coexist with bears,
trying to prevent cubs from having to come to us in the first place. The needs of our little bears and the needs of our community stretch our resources thin.

Please help us reach our $450,000 Bear Necessities Campaign fundraising goal. We are committed to doing everything possible to provide the Bear Necessities for our cubs, but we urgently need your help. Please donate what you can; no amount is too small… or too
large. Friend by friend and dollar by dollar, we will meet our goal.
