Burgess Family / USATF Foundation Educational and
Vocational Tuition Reimbursement Program Application
The purpose of this program is to assist our sponsored athletes as they prepare for life outside of track and field. Given the rapidly changing complexities of today’s workplace, these grants will assist in providing scholarship assistance for further educational and vocational courses and training that will help the recipient athletes be better prepared for life beyond the sport.
Program Schedule:
The Program will run annually starting on September 1st after the establishment of that year’s USATF Foundation Grantees. Recipients will be reimbursed up to $6,000 each year. Pre-approval for reimbursement is available for athletes who are anticipating taking a course within the grant cycle year. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
Application Eligibility:
For an athlete to be considered, an athlete must:
1. Be a current or prior year post-collegiate USATF Foundation grant award winner
2. Plan to take a course that is academic in nature (working toward a career), not to explore a new hobby
3. Earn at least a 2.0 or "C" for each academic course and/or satisfactory completion of a vocational course
4. Follow tuition guidelines: reimbursements are for tuition and books (not for registration fees, housing, meal plans, late fees, parking, etc.)
5. Provide proper documentation when it becomes available from the institution where the course/training has been completed
