Please fill out the application below to be considered to receive one of the 200 Little Free Library book-sharing boxes that we are granting as part of our 200,000th library celebration.

Please note that this opportunity is open to applicants in the U.S. only. This opportunity is open for applicants representing Title I elementary schools. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how children in particular will be served by a Little Free Library in their area. Entry period ends January 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CST.

Each package includes:
  • Fully-assembled, custom library (​library details will be shared with recipients upon confirmation)
  • Standard charter sign
  • Wooden post kit for outdoor installation OR a set of legs for indoor installation
  • Bundle of 200 children's books generously provided by Penguin Random House
  • Steward's Guide and support materials

Expectations:
  • You must be able to install the Little Free Library no later than October 31, 2025.
  • Set up a steward account (if you do not already have one).
  • Add the library location and photo to the Little Free Library map.
  • Share photos and details about your community upon installation.
  • Credit and tag Little Free Library and our partners when sharing on social media or in the news. As the installation deadline nears, our team will provide you with sample language, appropriate tags, etc. so the process is as turnkey as possible. 
  • Respond to all follow-up communications from Little Free Library as needed.

Review the following.  Applicants who do not meet these requirements are not be eligible.
  1. This opportunity is open for applicants representing Title I elementary schools. Please verify your school is a Title I elementary school in the Applicant Information section below.
  2. Library location and shipping address must be in the United States.
  3. Applicant must be 18 years or older.
  4. Applicant must be a local person responsible for and with regular access to the library.
  5. Applicant must have permission to apply on behalf of the organization.
  6. Applicant must have a confirmed library location with all necessary permissions/permits.

I agree to the following terms if awarded a Little Free Library Grant:
  1. I will install the library no later than October 31, 2025.
  2. I will set up a steward account and complete the library registration.
  3. I will add the library’s location and photo to the Little Free Library world map.
  4. I will share photos and details about my community upon installation.
  5. I will credit the Little Free Library and related partners when sharing on social media or in the news.
  6. I will respond to all follow-up communications from Little Free Library and Scholastic as needed.
  7. I will acknowledge that Little Free Library® and its logo are registered trademarks of LFL, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. LFL grants Impact grant recipients revocable, non-transferable permission to use our trademarked name and logo to promote our collaborative activities through their communication channels and promotional materials.  When using LFL's marks, Impact grant recipients must state "Little Free Library® and its logo are registered trademarks of Little Free Library, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and are used with its permission.” Impact grant recipients may not alter LFL's trademark or logo, use it to raise funds, sell goods or services or otherwise claim a direct affiliation with LFL without the express, written permission of LFL in advance.
