APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS - PLEASE READ

This application is comprised of two parts, 
the APPLICATION FORM and the SUBMISSION FEE PAYMENT. Applications are only accepted if both parts are complete. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

1. APPLICATION FORM
Please complete each section of the five-page application form. Upon clicking "Submit Form," your application materials will be sent to the CFC. 

2. SUBMISSION FEE PAYMENT
Please note that there is a submission fee of $100.00 CAD for this application. After submitting the application form, you will be redirected to PayPal to complete the submission fee payment.
Please ensure you have enabled pop-up windows in your browser before starting the application.

Due to the high volume of applicants, we are no longer able to provide feedback.

AND FILMOGRAPHY [MAX ONE (1) PAGE]
Your Resumé/Curriculum Vitae should contain an up-to-date account of your experience, education, and/or training.

Your Filmography is a rundown of all your produced onscreen work, listing any applicable credits you have as an editor, assistant editor, other roles in post-production, etc.

Your Filmography should include: 
1) The title of the project.
2) Your role(s) on the project.
3) The year the project was produced.
4) The format of the project (feature, short, series, commercial, web, etc.)
5) Other key creatives you worked with (writer, director, producer, editor, etc.)

VISUAL SUPPORT MATERIAL
Visual support materials submitted should showcase your editing talent, demonstrating your storytelling capabilities. This can include any genre of film, television, documentary, web content, and/or music videos. You may submit up to five (5) projects up to a maximum of 120 minutes.

All materials submitted for review must be in their entirety, including shorts and/or feature films.

Please do not submit demo reels, clips, or trailers.

If submitting multiple works, please add them in order of preferred viewing, to ensure we prioritize what you believe is your strongest work.

If it's a feature or series, please let us know which section/episode you would like us to prioritize watching (time codes as hours : minutes : seconds)

Please note that at any time during the selection process, we may request additional materials. 











YOUR ADVOCATES
Please provide us with contact information for up to two (2) people who are familiar with you as an editor, your work, your process, and/or your creative aspirations. We may reach out to your advocate(s) to arrange a phone or video call.

Information collected in the below Self-Identification Questionnaire is kept in a secure location: access to this information is restricted only to CFC personnel with valid reasons who require it – including but not limited to CFC Programs, Legal, IT, and Communications, and it will be destroyed after the CFC has analyzed the information and its subsequent anonymization (unless otherwise required by law).  You may withdraw your consent to the CFC’s continued use of the information provided in this Questionnaire at any time during the collection or over the period during which the information is held by the CFC prior to its anonymization.

CANADIAN CITIZEN/ PERMANENT RESIDENT ELIGIBILITY
Applicants to CFC programs must be Canadian citizens (as defined by the Citizenship Act) or permanent residents of Canada (as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act). 

A
pplicants selected for an interview will be required to provide the CFC proof of Canadian citizenship/permanent residency (PR) status. Accepted documents proving PR/citizenship include a Canadian passport, Canadian birth certificate, or Canadian permanent resident (PR) card.
RESPECT IN THE WORKPLACE POLICY

CFC has a zero tolerance policy in respect to discrimination and harassment in the workplace. All applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the CFC Respect in the Workplace Policy and to direct any questions with respect to this policy to Deborah Fallows, CHRO, who can be reached at dfallows@cfccreates.comAll residents accepted into this program will be required to acknowledge and agree to this policy. 
COVID-19 POLICY
The Canadian Film Centre plans to deliver in-person programming, however, as the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic remain fluid, and as the health and safety of our staff, mentors/guests and residents is our top priority, the CFC has elected to maintain its COVID protocols until further notice. This includes screening for symptoms, masking, and physical distancing.
