Zero-Emission Vehicle Transition Planning Grant Opportunity

As the transportation industry increasingly recognizes the environmental and economic benefits of zero-emission technologies, many fleet operators are seeking strategic guidance to transition their fleets to zero-emission. Made possible with funding from the C.H. Robinson Foundation’s Strategic Industry Grants Program, CTE is offering complimentary technical advisory services to assist commercial fleets with planning their transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to zero-emission alternatives.

CTE’s tailored zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) Transition Plans provide fleet operators with a roadmap to navigate the complexities of fleet electrification, addressing critical factors such as vehicle selection, infrastructure requirements, cost considerations, and emissions benefits. Our Transition Planning Methodology consists of sequential data collection, analysis, and assessment phases, that build upon findings in previous phases. You can learn more about CTE's Transition Planning work on our website here and our Commercial Freight work here.

Eligibility Requirements
  • The ZEV Transition Plan will be completed for one fleet operating out of a single depot. (If your fleet operates out of more than one depot, you may select which depot will be the focus of this ZEV Transition Plan.)

  • It will be necessary to have at least one staff person available to provide the required data inputs for the analysis and participate in workshops with CTE throughout the project timeline.
Timeline

There are 9 phases to CTE’s Transition Planning Methodology, beginning with a Kickoff and Transition Planning Workshop to take place in February 2025.

Results from each phase of the ZEV Transition Plan will be presented to the selected fleet operator throughout the transition planning process, culminating in a ZEV Transition Plan Report summarizing the entire project.

The Final ZEV Transition Plan Report will be completed by the end of July 2025.
