Maryland Cyber Workforce Accelerator (CWA) Application

Credit Student: You are currently or previously enrolled at the community college listed above in courses that count toward a degree or certificate. These are typically academic or career programs that offer college credit.


Non-Credit Student: You either:


Are not currently enrolled at the community college listed above, or

Are enrolled, but only in non-credit courses (such as workforce training, personal enrichment, or continuing education classes that do not count toward a degree or certificate).

SNAP stands for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as food stamps. This program helps eligible individuals and families buy groceries each month. When the application asks “Are you currently receiving SNAP benefits?”, it’s asking whether: 1.You are actively enrolled in the SNAP program right now, and 2.You are receiving monthly SNAP funds on an EBT card. You should select “Yes” if you are currently get SNAP benefits or you are listed on an application of an actively enrolled SNAP beneficiary. Select “No” if you do not receive SNAP, even if you applied before or expect to receive it in the future. This question helps determine which resources, support, and program eligibility.

As a community college credit student previously or currently studying IT and/or cybersecurity, you are not required to have prior cybersecurity certifications for this program. However, as this program has limited space, having any of the certifications below will increase the likelihood of admission. Additionally, we ask that you let us know if you have any of the following certifications to best be considered for employment following completion of the training.

This program is intended for individuals looking for new employment in the IT/cybersecurity field.

This program is funded by the State of Maryland’s Department of Labor. As a recipient of Maryland grant funds, this program is required by law to collect certain demographic information from training participants and to provide such information to Labor for reporting purposes. By enrolling in this program, I grant permission to share any information contained in this application with the Maryland Department of Labor and the Maryland Association of Community Colleges. I understand and agree with these conditions.

All applications will be reviewed and decided on by BCR Cyber on the 1st and 15th of each month. Training will begin immediately upon acceptance into the program and you will have 60 days to complete.
This program, curated by BCR Cyber, is funded by the Maryland Food Supplement Employment and Training (FSET) Program, administered by the Maryland Department of Human Resources (DHS), and the Maryland Department of Labor.  As a recipient of FSET funds, this program is required by law to collect certain information from participants and to provide such information to DHS for reporting purposes.  Such information will include but may not be limited to intake documentation, assessments, FSET eligibility verification, individual employment plans, progress notes, certifications, resumes, program performance status and placement status.  By enrolling in this program, I grant permission to share my information with DHS and the Maryland Department of Labor, and I grant permission to the program to collect further information from me in the future, including information relating to my employment now and in the future. The conditions outlined in this document have been explained to me in an individual meeting and I understand and agree with these conditions.
