PRE-CONFERENCE OPPORTUNITY

Kick off Focal Point early on Sunday, May 31 with a unique volunteering, learning, and networking opportunity. Space is limited to 50 people.

6:00 - 6:30 PM - Nosh and networking 


Learn how OLAM partner organization Afya Foundation redistributes surplus medical supplies to compromised health systems and then roll up your sleeves to sort and prepare medical supplies for shipment to communities in need around the world.
After, grab a snack and get to know other conference participants in an intimate setting!

This service opportunity is in partnership with Afya Foundation and the Jewish Service Alliance, powered by Repair the World.


ACCOMODATION
Focal Point will begin on June 1 at 11 AM (registration opens at 10 AM) and will end on June 2 at 5 PM. Please plan your accommodation and travel accordingly.

A discounted hotel room block has been reserved at the Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Midtown East, at 866 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022 (about a 10-minute walk from the conference venue) for the nights of Sunday, May 31 and Monday, June 1. We also have a few available rooms on May 30, for those arriving early. 

Costs:
Single room with king bed - $370/night (including tax)
Double room with two queen beds $347/night (including tax) - available on May 31 & June 1. 
If you want to share a double room with a specific person, one of you will book the room and list the name of the other guest during the reservation. 

Participants are responsible for booking and paying for their own hotel accommodations. We have reserved a limited number of rooms, so please make the booking as soon as possible.

TRAVEL

Travel to and from Focal Point is the responsibility of each participant. 
We recommend that anyone flying into New York for Focal Point purchase refundable or flexible airline tickets in case you need to cancel your attendance for any reason.
 
As we are committed to making Focal Point as financially accessible as possible, OLAM has procured a limited pool of need-based travel subsidies.
 
Priority will be given to partner organizations with a budget below $1 million. Others are encouraged to apply as well. 

We can only provide a travel subsidy for up to one person per partner organization.

For more information and to apply for a travel subsidy, please complete this additional form as soon as possible. Requests will be approved on a rolling basis.
